Katie and Keith Cole

Meet Midtowners Katie and Keith Cole. Longtime Dixon members and staunch advocates for their adopted community, Katie is from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, while Keith hails from Hayti, Missouri. Here they share their perspectives on the arts and why they generously support the Dixon through their estate plan.

Susan Adler Thorp

Meet Susan Adler Thorp, native Memphian and avid art collector, owner of Susan Adler Thorp Communications, political commentator on ABC 24 This Week, and former political columnist for The Commercial Appeal.

Ken Clark

Ken Clark is a Circle Life member, former trustee, member of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens Endowment Board and the Legacy Society, and a generous supporter. He shares some of his Dixon experiences and his personal inspiration to elevate both his participation and his support, which includes establishing a garden in memory of his wife Ellen.

Preston Dorsett

Dr. Preston Dorsett has been a Dixon member since 1998 and is currently a member of the Life Member Society, the Curator’s Circle, and the Legacy Society. Preston shares his thoughts about his Dixon experiences and the decision that he and his wife Karen made to provide a planned gift to the Dixon.

Debi and Galen Havner

Memphis transplants Debi and Galen Havner have embraced their new community enthusiastically, specifically for its cultural assets and its people. Debi was keenly involved in the establishment of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, and supports the Margaret Oates Dixon Society. They are members of the Dixon Life Member Society and the Curator’s Circle.

Frank Langford

Frank Langford is a longtime Dixon member, a middle Tennessee expatriate, and an advocate for the arts. He recently made a provision in his estate plan that includes a generous contribution to the Dixon which names him to the Legacy Society. He has thoughtful perspectives on including the organizations that are important to donors in estate plans.

Edie Marshall

Edie Marshall is a longtime Dixon member and past president of the Memphis Garden Club, which supports the Dixon financially and by creating floral arrangements for the galleries and exhibition opening events. Her love of her family, who knew Hugo and Margaret Dixon, drew her back to Memphis after many years. She reveals her reasons for including the Dixon in her estate plan.

Geri Meltzer

A native Canadian, Geri Meltzer is full of creative energy. A graphic designer by profession, Geri is inspired by art and looks forward to being able to travel again to enjoy museums both nationally and internationally. A longtime Dixon member and spirited community enthusiast, she generously supports the Dixon in her estate plan and shares her reasons for giving.

Ann Mullis

Ann is an eager museum advocate. While visiting museums around the world, she prefers smaller museums where she can become more intimately connected to the art. She supports the Dixon as it seeks to reach children and adults of all circumstances and welcome them to a place of peace. She made a planned gift in hope that her contribution will continue to help the Dixon be accessible to all.

Marylon Rogers Glass, known to everyone as Meegie, is a member of the Life Member Society, the Margaret Oates Dixon Society, the Curator’s Circle, the Legacy Society, and an enthusiastic advocate for all things Dixon. Meegie is as generous with her time and her warmth as she is with her assets, including her planned gift.
